== History == Frewsburg is named after the Frews - Hugh and Mary Frew, who were supposedly the first European family to settle in this area in 1807. The location of their first house is commemorated by a historic marker on Main Street in Frewsburg. The Frew House is privately owned and still used as a residence, having been divided into two units. The hamlet hosts the ''Gala Days'' festival, which is run by the fire department in mid-July.<ref>{{Cite web |url=http://www.post-journal.com/page/content.detail/id/505738.html?nav=5004 |title=Frewsburg Old Home Week & Gala Days to Commence - post-journal.com | News, Sports, Jobs, Community Information - Jamestown | Post-Journal |access-date=2013-04-16 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140514124105/http://www.post-journal.com/page/content.detail/id/505738.html?nav=5004 |archive-date=2014-05-14 |url-status=dead }}</ref> As of 2010, an annual June Rib Festival has been added.<ref>{{Cite web |url=http://www.post-journal.com/page/content.detail/id/556305.html |title=Rib Fest Confirms Frewsburg as Host - post-journal.com | News, Sports, Jobs, Community Information - Jamestown | Post-Journal |access-date=2013-04-16 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140514124141/http://www.post-journal.com/page/content.detail/id/556305.html |archive-date=2014-05-14 |url-status=dead }}</ref> On the Saturday after [[Thanksgiving (United States)|Thanksgiving]], Frewsburg holds an annual "Old Fashioned Santa Parade."
