==Geography== According to the [[United States Census Bureau|U.S. Census Bureau]], the county has a total area of {{convert|9266|sqmi}}, of which {{convert|9184|sqmi}} is land and {{convert|82|sqmi}} (0.9%) is water.<ref>{{Cite web |date=August 22, 2012 |title=2010 Census Gazetteer Files |url=http://www2.census.gov/geo/docs/maps-data/data/gazetteer/counties_list_56.txt |access-date=August 5, 2015 |publisher=US Census Bureau}}</ref> It is the second-largest county by area in Wyoming, as well as in the six Rocky Mountain States. Elevations and climate range from desert at Boysen State Park to glaciers at {{convert|13804|ft|m|adj=on}} [[Gannett Peak]], the highest point not only in Wyoming but in the three Central Rockies states of [[Wyoming]], [[Idaho]] and [[Montana]]. The southern end of the county is traversed by the [[Oregon Trail]] and in the northwest corner lies [[Dubois, Wyoming|Dubois]], a gateway town for [[Yellowstone National Park]] and [[Grand Teton National Park]]. Although the county seat is Lander, the largest community is [[Riverton, Wyoming|Riverton]], home of [[Central Wyoming College]] and the economic hub of the region.
