==Geography==
Evans Mills is located northeast of the center of Jefferson County at {{Coord|44|5|19|N|75|48|26|W|type:city}} (44.088555, -75.807193).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|access-date=April 23, 2011|date=February 12, 2011|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> It sits near the geographic center of the town of Le Ray, in the valley of West Creek, a northeastward-flowing tributary of the [[Indian River (Black Lake)|Indian River]].

According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the village has a total area of {{convert|2.1|km2|order=flip}}, all  land.<ref name="Census 2010"/>

Evans Mills is near the west side of [[Fort Drum, New York|Fort Drum]]. It is located on County Road 16 (Willow Street). [[U.S. Route 11 in New York|U.S. Route 11]] passes through the southern side of the village, leading southwest {{Convert|10|mi|0}} to Watertown, the [[county seat]], and northeast {{convert|7|mi|0}} to the village of [[Philadelphia (village), New York|Philadelphia]].
