Duncan is located at {{coord|34|56|6|N|82|8|5|W|type:city}} (34.934983, -82.134801).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|access-date=April 23, 2011|date=February 12, 2011|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> The town is concentrated around the intersection of [[South Carolina Highway 290]] and [[South Carolina Highway 292]], west of [[Spartanburg, South Carolina|Spartanburg]] and east of [[Greenville, South Carolina|Greenville]]. Its corporate boundaries extend northward to beyond [[U.S. Route 29]], and southward to [[Interstate 85]]. The [[Tyger River|Middle Tyger River]] passes through the northern part of Duncan, and provides part of the town's boundary with [[Lyman, South Carolina|Lyman]] to the northeast.
