According to the [[United States Census Bureau|U.S. Census Bureau]], the borough had a total area of 1.32 square miles (3.42&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>), including 1.18 square miles (3.07&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) of land and 0.14 square miles (0.35&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) of water (10.30%).<ref name=CensusArea/><ref name=GR1 /> The borough's beaches have been expanded significantly due to reclamation of the beach by way of dredging.{{citation needed|date=August 2020}}

[[Deal Lake]] covers {{convert|158|acres}} and is overseen by the Deal Lake Commission, which was established in 1974.
