==Geography== Cummington is in northwestern Hampshire County. It is bordered to the west by the towns of [[Peru, Massachusetts|Peru]] and [[Windsor, Massachusetts|Windsor]] in [[Berkshire County, Massachusetts|Berkshire County]], to the north by [[Plainfield, Massachusetts|Plainfield]] in Hampshire County, and to the northeast by [[Ashfield, Massachusetts|Ashfield]] in [[Franklin County, Massachusetts|Franklin County]]. To the east is the town of [[Goshen, Massachusetts|Goshen]], to the southeast is [[Chesterfield, Massachusetts|Chesterfield]], and to the south is [[Worthington, Massachusetts|Worthington]], all in Hampshire County. [[Massachusetts Route 9]] runs through the town, following the Westfield River for most of its way. Route 9 leads southeast {{convert|20|mi}} to [[Northampton, Massachusetts|Northampton]] and west {{convert|22|mi}} to [[Pittsfield, Massachusetts|Pittsfield]]. [[Massachusetts Route 112]] leads west, then south, {{Convert|21|mi}} to [[Huntington, Massachusetts|Huntington]].
