==Geography== Brookville is located in west-central Jefferson County, at the confluence of the North Fork and Sandy Lick Creek, forming Redbank Creek, a westward-flowing tributary of the [[Allegheny River]]. [[U.S. Route 322 in Pennsylvania|U.S. Route 322]] (Main Street) passes through the center of town, leading southeast {{convert|12|mi}} to [[Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania|Reynoldsville]] and west {{convert|16|mi}} to [[Clarion, Pennsylvania|Clarion]]. [[Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania|Interstate 80]] passes through the northern side of the borough, with access from exits 78 and 81. I-80 leads east {{convert|20|mi}} to [[DuBois, Pennsylvania|DuBois]] and west {{convert|60|mi}} to [[Interstate 79]] near [[Mercer, Pennsylvania|Mercer]]. [[Pennsylvania Route 28]] joins US 322 as Main Street through Brookville, but leads northeast {{convert|17|mi}} to [[Brockway, Pennsylvania|Brockway]] and southwest {{convert|19|mi}} to [[New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania|New Bethlehem]]. [[Pennsylvania Route 36]] leads northwest from Brookville {{convert|23|mi}} to [[Leeper, Pennsylvania|Leeper]] and south {{convert|19|mi}} to [[Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania|Punxsutawney]]. Brookville is in the [[Eastern Standard Time (North America)|Eastern Standard Time]] zone. The center of town in the Redbank Creek valley is at an elevation of {{Convert|1273|ft}}, but hills lining the valley rise to summits ranging from {{convert|1460|to|1600|ft}} within the borough limits. According to the [[United States Census Bureau|U.S. Census Bureau]], the borough has a total area of {{convert|8.3|km2|order=flip}}, of which {{Convert|8.1|sqkm|order=flip}} are land and {{convert|0.2|sqkm|order=flip|1}}, or 2.83%, are water.<ref name="Census 2010"/>
