The village is located on the boundary between [[Forest Home Township, Michigan|Forest Home Township]] on the west and [[Kearney Township, Michigan|Kearney Township]] on the east, separated by the [[Intermediate River]]  with the larger portion within Kearney Township. [[M-88 (Michigan highway)|M-88]] passes through the village, with [[Central Lake, Michigan|Central Lake]] approximately 8 miles to the north and [[Mancelona, Michigan|Mancelona]] approximately 10 miles to the southeast.
