Arizona City is located at {{coord|32|45|6|N|111|40|45|W|type:city}} (32.751641, −111.679283).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|access-date=April 23, 2011|date=February 12, 2011|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the CDP has a total area of {{convert|6.2|sqmi|km2}}, of which {{convert|6.1|sqmi|km2}}  is land and {{convert|0.1|sqmi|km2}}  (1.29%) is water.

The CDP is approximately {{convert|1,509|ft|m}} above [[sea level]] and located in an area of Pinal County known as the [[Santa Cruz River (Arizona)|Santa Cruz]] Flats. According to the [[Arizona Geological Survey]], the valley floor surrounding Arizona City and nearby [[Eloy, Arizona|Eloy]] has lowered by more than {{convert|20|ft|m}} in the past 50 years due to rapid depletion of the groundwater [[aquifer]]s underneath the region. Arizona City itself is mostly flat, lying in the Santa Cruz Valley in the center of three low mountain ranges; the Sawtooth Mountains to the south, the Picacho Mountains to the east, and the Casa Grande Mountains to the north. [[Picacho Peak State Park|Picacho Peak]], a prominent peak with a summit elevation of {{convert|3,374|ft|m}}, is located approximately {{convert|20|mi|km}} to the southeast adjacent to Interstate 10. Directly to the west of the CDP is the expansive [[Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation]],<ref name=autogenerated1 /> which stretches {{convert|80|mi|km}} south to the [[international border]] with [[Mexico]].
