== Geography == According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the town has a total area of {{convert|196.2|sqkm|order=flip}}, of which {{convert|194.6|sqkm|order=flip}} are land and {{convert|1.5|sqkm|order=flip}} are water, comprising 0.79% of the town.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2020"/> It is drained by the [[Swift River (Saco River tributary)|Swift River]] in the north and the [[Chocorua River]] in the south. The former village of Passaconaway occupies a broad valley along the Kancamagus Highway in the northwestern part of the town. The area is now a national forest visitor attraction.
