The sub-kings [[Berthun of Sussex|Berthun]] and [[Andhun of Sussex|Andhun]] are killed, and [[Sussex]] is subjugated by the [[Wessex|West Saxons]].

* [[Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan]] imprisons and [[torture]]s patriarch [[Hnanisho I|Mar Khnanishu I]]. He is the first [[caliph]] to insist on the collection of the [[Tax per head|poll tax]] from the [[Christians]] (approximate date).
