Mayer Pictures]] to create [[Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer]] (MGM) *[[November 15]] β In [[Los Angeles]], director [[Thomas H. Ince|Thomas Ince]] ("The Father of the Western") meets publishing tycoon [[William Randolph Hearst]] to work out a deal.
