Another example of Ono's participatory art was her ''Wish Tree'' project, in which a tree native to the installation site is installed. Her 1996 ''Wish Piece'' had the following instructions:

:Make a wish
:Write it down on a piece of paper
:Fold it and tie it around a branch of a Wish Tree
:Ask your friends to do the same
:Keep wishing

Her ''Wish Tree'' installation in the [[Sculpture Garden]] of the [[Museum of Modern Art]], New York, established in July 2010, has attracted contributions from all over the world. In 2014 Ono's ''Imagine Peace'' exhibit opened at the Bob Rauschenburg Gallery at [[Florida SouthWestern State College]] in [[Fort Myers, Florida]].
