A large number of famous individuals have passed through the University of London, either as staff or students, including at least 12 monarchs or royalty, 52 presidents or prime ministers, 84 [[Nobel Prize|Nobel laureates]], 6 [[Grammy Award|Grammy]] winners, 2 [[Academy Awards|Oscar]] winners, 1 [[Ekushey Padak]] winner and 3 [[List of multiple Olympic gold medalists|Olympic gold medalists]]. The [[collegiate university|collegiate]] [[research university]] has also produced [[Father of the Nation]] for several countries, including several members of [[Colonial Service]] and [[Indian Civil Service (British India)|Imperial Civil Service]] during the [[British Raj]] and the [[British Empire]].
