Parallel with the state administration, five traditional [[Bantu peoples|Bantu]] kingdoms have remained, enjoying some degrees of mainly cultural autonomy. The kingdoms are [[Toro Kingdom|Toro]], [[Busoga]], [[Bunyoro]], [[Buganda]], and [[Rwenzururu]].
