[[Legislative branch|Legislative authority]] vests in the {{Lang|es|[[Cortes Generales]]}} ({{langx|en|Spanish Parliament|lit=General Courts}}), a democratically elected [[bicameral parliament]] that serves as the supreme representative body of the Spanish people.
