===Grady Little's visit===
Martínez was also on the mound for Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS versus the [[2003 New York Yankees season|Yankees]]. With the Red Sox ahead 5–2 at the start of the 8th inning, a tiring Martínez pitched his way into trouble. He was visited on the mound by manager [[Grady Little]], but was left in to pitch, in a controversial non-move.
