===Roads===
Northampton is served by four exits of [[Interstate 91]], which passes to the east of downtown along the Connecticut River. [[U.S. Route 5 in Massachusetts|U.S. Route 5]], [[Massachusetts Route 9]], and [[Massachusetts Route 10]] all intersect in the city's downtown area. [[Massachusetts Route 66]] also is partially in Northampton.

The city of Northampton faces daily traffic congestion in the downtown area and connector roads, often resulting in long delays and traffic buildup.
