The armed forces of Montenegro are managed by the [[Ministry of Defence (Montenegro)|Ministry of Defence]], and controlled by the Chief of the General Staff. The [[President of Montenegro]] is the [[Commander-in-Chief]] of the armed forces, to whom members of the forces swear an oath of allegiance. The Armed Forces are charged with protecting Montenegro, promoting the global security interests and supporting international peacekeeping efforts.
