As of March 2011, there were a total of 27,289 registered voters in Montclair, of which 14,782 (54.2%) were registered as [[Democratic Party (United States)|Democrats]], 2,581 (9.5%) were registered as [[Republican Party (United States)|Republicans]] and 9,903 (36.3%) were registered as [[Unaffiliated (New Jersey)|unaffiliated]].
