The team also reached the [[NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament#Final Four|Final Four]] of the tournament in 1970. The 2014-15 NMSU women's basketball team reached the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1988, when it won both the WAC regular season and tournament championships.
