===Colleges and universities=== The Joplin College of Physicians and Surgeons operated from 1880 to 1884. Today, Joplin is home to [[Missouri Southern State University]], founded in 1937 as a junior college and expanded in the following decades. The one Bible college is [[Ozark Christian College]].
