With over {{cvt|80|km|mi}} of double track, the [[Gothenburg tram network]] covers most of the city and is the largest tram/[[light rail]] network in Scandinavia. Gothenburg also has a bus network. Boat and ferry services connect the [[Gothenburg archipelago]] to the mainland. The lack of a [[Rapid transit|subway]] is due to the soft ground on which Gothenburg is situated.
