Erie is home to several colleges and universities, including [[Gannon University]] in downtown Erie and [[Mercyhurst University]] in the southeast part of the city. Erie is also home to the [[Barber National Institute]] and its Elizabeth Lee Black School, which provides services and education for children and adults with mental disabilities.
