==Personal life== From 1976 to 1988, May was married to Christine Mullen.<ref name=whoswho/> They had three children.<ref name=whoswho>{{Who's Who |title=May, Dr Brian Harold |id=U247368 |year=2022 |doi=10.1093/ww/9780199540884.013.U247368}}</ref> They separated in 1988. May met actress [[Anita Dobson]] in 1986. She inspired him to write the 1989 hit "I Want It All".
