They were renamed for long time Tracy High football coach Wayne Schneider in 2012 after the field was completely rebuilt.

* In 2009, the city made national headlines because of a brutal crime, the body of 8-year-old [[Sandra Cantu]] was found during routine draining of an irrigation pond.
