On 24 August 2019, ''Ronald Reagan'' returned to Yokosuka Naval Base, after a very short patrol of the western Pacific. The vessel made two stops over the deployment. First at [[Brisbane]] to join the 2019 [[Exercise Talisman Saber]] off Australia's east coast, then at [[Manila]] for a brief port visit on the week of 11 August; between those two points the ship had transited the South China Sea in order to send a message to Beijing that the seas must be free and open. Admiral [[Karl O.
