==Honours and commemorations== Beecham was knighted in 1916 and succeeded to the baronetcy on the death of his father later that year. In 1938 the President of France, [[Albert François Lebrun|Albert Lebrun]], invested him with the [[Legion of Honour|Légion d'honneur]].<ref>Russell, p. 52</ref> In 1955, Beecham was presented with the [[Order of the White Rose of Finland]].<ref>Lucas, p. 330</ref> He was a Commendatore of the Order of the Crown of Italy and was made a [[Member of the Order of the Companions of Honour]] in the 1957 [[Queen's Birthday Honours]].<ref name=jefferson101/><ref>"Sir T. Its first production, in 1979, starred [[Timothy West]] in the title role.
