In 2008, Subway began to offer all its regular {{convert|1|ft|cm|spell=in|adj=mid|-long}} submarine sandwiches (excluding the premium and double-meat varieties) for five dollars (equivalent to ${{Format price|{{Inflation|US|5|2008|r=2}}}} in {{Inflation/year|US}}), in the continental United States and Canada, as a "limited time only" promotion. Since 2011, there has been a monthly rotating $5 footlong.<ref name="Yahoo!"/> In October 2011, a similar promotion was launched in the United Kingdom.
