===Stage performances===
Slipknot is known for its chaotic, energetic live shows that contributed to the band's success.<ref name="AMG"/> During performances, most of the band's members [[headbanging|headbang]] heavily.<ref name="Rapcore1"/><ref name="NME Live Review">{{cite news |author = O'Keeffe, Niall |title = Slipknot : London Arena |work=NME |date = February 26, 2002 |url = https://www.nme.com/reviews/slipknot/6129 |access-date=December 19, 2007}}</ref> The band's early performances included extreme acts such as stage dives from high balconies and band members setting each other on fire.
