Typical SS ANA patterns are [[Anti-SSA/Ro autoantibodies|SSA/Ro]] and [[Anti-nuclear antibody#Anti-Ro/SS-A and anti-La/SS-B|SSB/La]], of which anti-SSB/La is far more specific; anti-SSA/Ro is associated with numerous other autoimmune conditions, but is often present in SS. However anti-SSA and anti-SSB tests are frequently not positive in SS.{{citation needed|date=October 2020}}
