Elementary schools comprise preschool, K-5, middle and magnet schools. There are several private schools, including the PreK-8 schools [[Saint Matthew's Episcopal Day School]] and the Carey school. There are three public high schools: [[San Mateo High School|San Mateo]], [[Aragon High School|Aragon]], and [[Hillsdale High School (San Mateo)|Hillsdale]]. There are also two main private high schools: one all-male Catholic high school, [[Junípero Serra High School (San Mateo, California)|Junípero Serra]]; and the Nueva Upper School.
