[[Hawke's Bay Airport]] is the main airport in the Hawke's Bay region and has domestic flight services. It is jointly owned by the government, Napier City Council, and Hastings District Council, and is operated by Hawke's Bay Airport Ltd. The airport is located in the Napier suburb of [[Westshore, New Zealand|Westshore]]. [[Air New Zealand]] provides frequent direct flights to and from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. [[Sunair]] serves Tauranga, Hamilton, Gisborne and Wairoa. Smaller charter companies also operate, including [[Air Napier]] to Gisborne. The airport was historically referred to as Napier Airport, and its [[IATA airport code|IATA]] code reflects that: NPE.
