A member of Parliament is a member of either of the two houses of the Pakistani Parliament: the [[National Assembly of Pakistan]] and [[Senate of Pakistan]]. The National Assembly of Pakistan has a total of 342 members, of whom 272 are directly elected, and 70 seats are reserved for women and minorities. A member of the National Assembly of Pakistan (MNA) has a tenure of five years. On the other hand, there are 104 members of the Senate of Pakistan, in which all four [[Administrative units of Pakistan|provinces]] are represented by 23 senators regardless of population, while the [[Islamabad Capital Territory]] is represented by four senators. A member of the Senate of Pakistan (a senator) has a tenure of six years.
