The racial makeup of the city was 86.9% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 8.6% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.3% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 1.1% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.4% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 2.7% from two or more races. The ethnic makeup of the city was 89.61% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 7.49% [[African American (U.S. Census)|Black]] or [[Race (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.20% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.82% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.05% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.30% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 1.53% from two or more races. [[Hispanic and Latino Americans|Hispanic or Latino]] people of any race were 0.85% of the population.
