* The [[country rock]] band "Mogollon" was formed in Overgaard in the early 1980s. The group's name was derived from the nearby [[Mogollon Rim]]. * On November 5, 1975, [[Lumberjack|logger]] [[Travis Walton UFO incident|Travis Walton]] was allegedly abducted by a [[unidentified flying object|UFO]] while working with a logging crew in the [[Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest]].
