===Railway===
Drogheda acquired rail links to [[Dublin]] in 1844, [[Navan]] in 1850 and [[Belfast]] in 1852. Passenger services between Drogheda and [[Navan]] were ended in 1958, however the line remains open for freight (Tara Mines/Platin Cement) traffic. In 1966 Drogheda station was renamed "MacBride". The station has direct trains on the [[Enterprise (train service)|Enterprise]] northbound to [[Dundalk railway station|Dundalk]], {{stnlnk|Newry}}, {{stnlnk|Portadown}} and [[Belfast Grand Central station|Belfast Grand Central]], and southbound to [[Dublin Connolly]]. 1 Train a day to Belfast skips Drogheda

A wide variety of [[Iarnród Éireann]] commuter services connect southbound to {{stnlnk|Balbriggan}}, {{stnlnk|Malahide}}, {{stnlnk|Howth Junction}}, [[Dublin Connolly]], {{stnlnk|Tara Street}}, [[Dublin Pearse railway station|Dublin Pearse]], [[Dún Laoghaire railway station|Dún Laoghaire]], {{stnlnk|Bray}}, {{stnlnk|Greystones}}, {{stnlnk|Wicklow}}, and [[Wexford]]. The [[Dublin Area Rapid Transit|DART]] is planned to be extended to Drogheda in the late 2020s or 30s as part of the [[Dublin Area Rapid Transit#DART+|DART+]] program.
