The type had an increased fuel capacity of {{convert|48070|USgal|L|abbr=on}}, allowing for a {{convert|5000|nmi|adj=on}} range with a typical 452-passenger payload, and an increased MTOW of {{convert|750000|lb|t|abbr=on}} was offered. The first -100B order, one aircraft for [[Iran Air]], was announced on June 1, 1978.
