* Belmar was home to the first and oldest first-aid squad in the United States. * Belmar's "E" Street is the original source of [[Bruce Springsteen]]'s "[[E Street Band]]". Springsteen's original keyboardist, David Sancious, was a resident of E Street in Belmar at the time the band was formed.
