In 1070, the emirs of [[Mecca]] and [[Medina]] came under the rule of the [[Seljuk Empire]]. After [[Mecca]] and [[Medina]] came under [[Seljuk Empire]] rule, the [[Fatimid Caliphate|Fatimid]] Vizier Nasr-Dawla asked for help from Alp Arslan against the [[Fatimid Caliphate|Fatimid]]s.
