The fall of Milošević in 2000 created a new political climate in Vojvodina. Following talks between the political parties, the level of the province's autonomy was somewhat increased by the [[omnibus law (Serbia)|omnibus law]] in 2002.{{citation needed|date=December 2016}} The Vojvodina provincial assembly adopted a new statute on 15 October 2008, which, after being partially amended, was approved by the [[Parliament of Serbia]].{{citation needed|date=December 2016}}
