===Console add-ons=== Certain consoles saw various add-ons or accessories that were designed to attach to the existing console to extend its functionality. The best example of this was through the various CD-ROM add-ons for consoles of the fourth generation such as the TurboGrafx CD, [[Atari Jaguar CD]], and the [[Sega CD]]. Other examples of add-ons include the [[32X]] for the [[Sega Genesis]] intended to allow owners of the aging console to play newer games but has several technical faults, and the [[Game Boy Player]] for the GameCube to allow it to play Game Boy games.
