== Terminology == Ultramarine is a blue made from natural [[lapis lazuli]], or its synthetic equivalent which is sometimes called "French Ultramarine".<ref name="dic12">{{citation |last=Paterson |first=Ian |title=A dictionary of colour |pages=35, 169, 228, 396 |year=2003}}</ref> More generally "ultramarine blue" can refer to a vivid blue. The term ultramarine can also refer to other pigments.
