Several industries occupy a major portion of the jobs located regionally, with health care comprising a significant portion of jobs in Monroe County. The University of Rochester (including its numerous hospitals) is the largest employer regionally with over 27,000 workers; [[Rochester Regional Health]] (parent company of Rochester General and Unity hospitals) is the second largest consisting of over 15,000.
