[[Elmhurst (Connersville, Indiana)|Elmhurst]], an estate south of town on [[Indiana State Road 121|State Road 121]] and built in 1831, was the home of [[Caleb Blood Smith]], who served in [[Abraham Lincoln]]'s cabinet. The [[Whitewater Valley Railroad]] is a {{convert|19|mi|adj=on}} long operating scenic railroad and museum between Connersville and [[Metamora, Indiana|Metamora]].

Fayette County Historical Museum is located in the city, as is the [[Canal House]], built in 1842 as headquarters for the Whitewater Canal Company,
