On 17 May 2020, Netanyahu was sworn in for a fifth term as prime minister in a coalition with [[Benny Gantz]]. Against a background of the [[COVID-19 pandemic in Israel]] and Netanyahu's criminal trial, [[Protests against Benjamin Netanyahu|extensive demonstrations broke out against him]] in front of the prime minister's residence.
