The Barrington area features numerous parks and [[nature preserves]]. Langendorf Park features tennis courts, playgrounds, outdoor and indoor basketball courts, baseball fields, meeting/activity rooms, and "Aqualusion", a [[water park]] that includes a zero-depth [[Swimming pool|pool]], lap pool, and diving area, and a splashpad. The preserve is named for Cuba Road, which provides the park's northern boundary.<ref name="LkCtyCbaMrsh"/> It is administered by Lake County Forest Preserves. In 2011, Barrington received a $65,000 grant from the Northwest Municipal Conference for preliminary engineering of a bike path along [[U.S. Route 14|Northwest Highway]].<ref name="pioneerlocal.com"/> However, a timetable for the project has not yet been set.<ref name="pioneerlocal.com"/>

There are two golf courses within village limits including the Makray Memorial Golf Club. (formerly known as the Thunderbird Golf Course)<ref name="Makray">{{cite web| url=http://www.makraygolf.com/about.aspx | archive-url=https://archive.today/20100710081422/http://www.makraygolf.com/about.aspx | url-status=dead | archive-date=July 10, 2010 |title=Makray Memorial Golf Club |publisher=Makraygolf.com |date=June 8, 2004 |access-date=July 10, 2010}}</ref>  Located southeast of the village center on [[U.S. Route 14|Northwest Highway]], the 18-hole course totals {{convert|7000|yd}} and includes four sets of tees per hole.<ref name="Makray"/>  The other golf course is a five-hole public course operated by the Barrington Park District at the far western end of Langendorf Park.
