===Augmentation and combination===
For a partial response, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) guidelines suggest [[Augmentation (pharmacology)|augmentation]] or adding a drug from a different class. A combination strategy involves adding another antidepressant, usually from a different class to affect other mechanisms.
