The [[Indonesian Chinese|Chinese Indonesian]] community have established temples dedicated to Zheng He in [[Jakarta]], [[Cirebon]], [[Surabaya]], and [[Semarang]].<ref name="Tata"/>

In 1961, the Indonesian Islamic leader and scholar [[Hamka]] credited Zheng He for playing an important role in the development of Islam in Indonesia.<ref>Wang, Rosey Ma.
