==In literature and other media== University of Galway is the setting for, and is referred to in, numerous works of fiction. [[Breandán Ó hEithir]]'s novel ''[[Lig Sinn i gCathú]]'', set in a thinly disguised Galway and telling the story of student life over four days in April 1949, has featured on the secondary school [[Leaving Certificate (Ireland)|Leaving Certificate]] syllabus.
